ReqSnap
Privacy Policy
01 What Data We Collect
Captured API response data (website content)
- When you use ReqSnap, it reads network responses (fetch/XHR requests, including their URLs, headers, and response bodies) on the pages you browse, so it can display and save them for you. This data is read and stored only on your device, it is never uploaded or transmitted anywhere by ReqSnap.
Anonymous product usage analytics (website usage / user activity)
- ReqSnap sends basic, anonymized usage events (for example, "a response was saved" or "the export button was clicked") to help us understand how the extension is used and improve it. These events are tied to a randomly generated installation ID, not to you personally, and never include any part of a captured URL, header, or response body.
Plan/license status
- If you purchase the Pro upgrade, our payment processor (ExtensionPay/Stripe) provides ReqSnap with your plan status (e.g., paid or not) so the extension knows which features to unlock. This is handled by the payment processor's own systems, described further in Section 3.
ReqSnap does not collect personally identifiable information, your browsing history, your location, authentication credentials, health information, or financial account details. There is no account or signup required to use the free or paid version of ReqSnap.
02 How We Use Your Data
| Data | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Captured API responses | Letting you view, search, filter, and export responses you choose to save. Used for no other purpose and never analyzed, read, or accessed by us. |
| Anonymous usage analytics | Understanding which features are used and guiding product improvements (e.g., identifying confusing steps or unused features). |
| Plan/license status | Determining whether Pro features should be unlocked in your copy of the extension. |
Anonymous usage analytics are never used to build a profile of you, sold, or shared for advertising purposes. ReqSnap does not use any collected data to make credit, employment, insurance, or other eligibility decisions about you, and does not use it for purposes unrelated to operating and improving the extension.
03 Third-Party Services
ReqSnap relies on two third-party services, and no others:
Google Analytics (GA4)
Used to receive the anonymous usage events described in Section 1. Google may process standard network-request metadata (such as IP address) as part of receiving this request, consistent with how any HTTPS request works — ReqSnap's code does not add your IP, page URL, or any identifying detail to this data on top of that.
Privacy Policy →ExtensionPay / Stripe
Used exclusively to process the one-time Pro upgrade payment. If you choose to upgrade, you'll interact with ExtensionPay's and Stripe's own hosted payment pages directly; ReqSnap does not process, transmit, or store your payment information itself. ReqSnap only stores the resulting plan status (paid or not) locally.
Privacy Policy →ReqSnap does not load any other remote code or scripts, and does not integrate with any other third-party service, analytics provider, or advertising network.
04 Data Retention
- Captured API responses: Stored locally in your browser's extension storage for as long as you keep them. You can delete individual captures or clear all captures at any time from the extension popup. Uninstalling ReqSnap removes all locally stored capture data along with the extension.
- Anonymous usage analytics: Retained by Google Analytics according to Google's standard retention settings for Measurement Protocol data. We do not maintain a separate copy of this data ourselves.
- Plan/license status: Retained locally for as long as the extension is installed, so your Pro unlock persists across browser sessions.
05 Data Sharing and Sale
ReqSnap does not sell your data. We do not share, rent, or trade any collected data with advertisers, data brokers, or any third party for their own independent use.
The only data that leaves your device at all is the anonymous usage analytics described above (sent to Google Analytics) and, if you purchase Pro, your payment details handled directly by ExtensionPay/Stripe. Neither of these ever includes your captured API response content.
06 Your Rights
- You can view, export, delete, or clear all of your captured API response data at any time directly within the ReqSnap popup, this data never leaves your device, so you have full and immediate control over it without needing to contact us.
- Because anonymous usage analytics are not tied to any personal identifier we control, we're not able to look up, export, or delete a specific person's analytics history on request. The ID is random and never linked to your identity in our systems.
If you have questions about this policy or how ReqSnap handles data, you can contact us using the details in Section 9 below.
07 Children's Privacy
ReqSnap is a developer tool intended for use by software developers, QA engineers, and other technical professionals. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect data from children under 13 (or the relevant age of digital consent in your region).
08 Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time, for example to reflect new features or changes in how ReqSnap handles data. If we make material changes, we'll update the "last updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
